04 Oct Discover Your passion
There is an overdose of information in the world out there; giving far too many options to think about; making decision-making very difficult.
This increases the confusion about what you want to do in life and you forget to spend time with the most important person you should be spending time i.e. with yourself.
Eventually there comes a time in life when it becomes difficult to know your passion and you start pondering over what you want to do in life, what you are good at and what you are passionate about.
Passion is the most important attribute of a successful person. Your passion will convince the world that you are highly capable in a particular subject or a particular challenge or product. So here is how you can discover your passion.
- list down all your likes. You could have many different likes as eating, cooking, watching TV, listening to music, reading, writing poetry, meet new people etc.
- start prioritizing and sorting a few likes from your list, then find out what are those three to four things that you like doing the most.
- sincerely focus on those three to four likes of yours, because the first quality of somebody who is passionate about a particular subject or a product or a challenge is that you must like doing what you do.
Remember, if you don’t like what you do, you will never do what you like.
Now that you have got that list of three to four issues or product that you like doing, figure out from this list what is that one or two thing that you can do at a world-class level. Supposing for an instance you like to write. Is it possible for you to develop this like of yours into a world-class habit? Suppose you like to cook, can you put in that effort to figure out how you can be world-class at cooking?
As Swami Vivekananda said, “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life; dream of it; think of it; live on that idea. Let the brain, the body, muscles, nerves, every part of your body be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
I believe passion comes down to two things, which is liking what you do and being the best at it. Once you get both done; that is when you have truly discovered your passion and you are all set to define your future.
It will take time as it is not easy but this is the way to discover; what you will be passionate about and this is the way to find success in your passion.
